with "La Bayadere" National Ballet celebrates its 49th anniversary

The most important dance institution in Panama, the National Ballet of Panama, is currently 49 years old and celebrated with its public with two free galas at the National Theater of Panama, where they performed the staging of the piece "La Bayadére," leading the audience to recreate a story of Hindu origin.

Daniel Domínguez, national director of The Arts of MiCultura highlighted the work of the National Ballet that in nearly five decades has been an ever ready collective to collaborate and offer his light and talent to the public.

The gala was conducive to pay tribute to three figures that are closely linked to the history of the National Ballet, to the formation of generations of Panamanian dancers, indispensable to the dance in Panama as are Raisa Gutiérrez, Alberto González and Ana Acela Smith, each of them closely linked with the history of the National Ballet, to the formation of generations of Panamanian dancers and so without them the educational history of the ballet in the country would be the same.

Dominguez, in his statement, explained that the National Ballet Gala forms part of an extensive cultural program that began with a Club Music Festival, continuing with the National Dance Reunion, where a Theater Festival will later be held from September 13th to October 1st in four different rooms.

That cultural agenda will continue with other initiatives such as a festival of visual arts and a festival of literature. Also, in November, cultural activations at a dozen points of the country as part of the initiatives undertaken by the national government and the ministry of culture in particular to remember the historic date of the bicentennial of Panama of Spain.

At the magical stage of the National Theater, they were also represented as part of the cast students from the School of Dances, Raisa Gutiérrez Academy, Scala Dancers, Danza Maze and Teresa Mann Pointe Academy Dance Center.
