MiCultura meets with representatives of the mass event sector

As part of the dialogues advanced by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) with all sectors related to performance and entertainment for the return of face-to-face activities, the regent of the cultural portfolio, Carlos Aguilar Navarro received producers of mass events to direct efforts for the gradual re-opening of this sector.

The authorities of the Ministry of Labour and Labour Development (MITREL), the Ministry of Trade and Industries (MICI), the Migration Board, the Tourism Authority (ATP) and the General Revenue Section (GFY) have been involved and have expressed their concerns and challenges with a view to finding a solution to the situation in which they have been the result of the pandemic.

Carlos Aguilar Navarro stated that the initiative of this meeting was to get jobs together with the authorities, similar to those of the "Block 6" grouping with about 120 organisations with an impact to get out of the COVID19 crisis and to achieve little by little economic stability in the sector.

That's why we have convened the group dedicated to performing and production great shows so as to have together come up with a road map that will lead us to the relaunch of the country as put forward by the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen and more now that we have advanced with the vaccination of the population.
The show producers put their concerns and needs to the authorities among them that seek support with regard to improving the bureaucratic procedures related to permits, taxes, bonds, retention expenses, guarantees and so forth, and have been affected by them for a long time at the time of their event and mainly by the relationship between the company and the artist.

At the same time they referred to them as wanting to be seen and taken into account as an important group that brings significant dividends to the country and that with these tables they hope to achieve some regulations, or modifications to some established laws and so they demand that the dialogue session to be held in two weeks be added to entities such as ACODECO, MINSA and MINGOB.

Mr. Aguilar Navarro called on DGI's representative and Mr. Maritza Ureña, deputy director of the General Revenue Directorate, to conduct a number of training before the next meeting so that both the entrepreneurs and their financial team can get better management workshops as to how to conduct them.

Zlaritma Ziono, employment director at MITRADEL, Yuealy Singh Tijerino and national trade director María Isabel Zaravia and deputy general director of the National Service for Migration and Magda Duran, as well as the authorities that have committed themselves to work with this sector for the benefit of the country.
