From 11 to 31 August, the National Conference of Dances will be held in a virtual and face-to-face manner at different theatres and cultural spaces and will be organized by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) through the national leadership of The Arts, with the participation of those who love this stage discipline, groups, schools and academies.
Daniel Domínguez, national director of The Arts of MiCultura detailed that the Reunion aims to "collaborate with the development of dance in Panama, to stimulate the cultural management of dance in the country and to stimulate the exchange of knowledge between creators, teachers and public at large."
Dominguez added that for this meeting of dances an open call was made so that all academies and groups could run for participation and it was up to an outside Jury to conduct the selection from what was established at the bases of the meeting of dance.
Productions such as: "La Trilogia del Corpado," by Carolina Figueiredo, "De a Coco and Retiro a Camajorú," by the Foundation of Creative Space, "barefoot" by Stephanie Lee, "Expand Domino" by the Collective 5th Essence, Essence by "When the Guayacanes Florenan" by the Essence Group, "Annie, la Huerfanita" by the group at Escena Academy and "Epicentro," by Gloria Pérez and "Herencia," by the Academy of Panama will be among other views at this meeting.
They will also be as guests The National Ballet that will offer the famous classic of La Bayadere and The National School of Dance with the Panamanian Folk Dance.
Other activities will also be held at the National Conference of Dances as educational workshops where participants will be able to get to know about the techniques in Flemish dance and how our body currently works and how our small daily actions have been transformed into society.
Also, there will be training about the techniques of Gaga body language, workshop about light for dance, dance as a language to heal a world, Improvisation in contemporary dance and as a partnership tool (dance as partners), dialogue between contemporary dance and music, Values, optimism, love and hope.
The National Theater, the Anita Villalaz Theater, the La Huaca Theater of Atlapa, the Experimental University Cinema and Sand Box and others will be available for this meeting.
The tickets can be obtained through the social networks of MiCultura, where the dynamic for participation at different workshops and shows will be published, as the tickets will be limited by the theme apoor and biosecurity by covid-19.
