MiCultura will participate at the 17th International Book Fair 2021

The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) invites the entire reader community to participate at the 17th International Book Fair of Panama to conduct a virtual conduct from 19 to 22 August.

Daniel Dominguez, National Director of The Arts, remarked that "we read to live, to visit places, to meet people, to discover different ages, to learn about other cultures. That's why Feria del Lozo is one of those suitable spaces for works to allow us to dream and be better people."

Since it's a tradition, national and international authors will participate at the Book Fair to come to this great digital event to interplay with Panamanian readers of all ages, Dominguez added.

Activities include Thursday, August 19, that includes the "New Latin American narrative" with the participation of writers Carlos Fonseca (Costa Rica), Cristina Morales (Spain), Mónica Ojeada (Ecuador) and Valerie Milles (United States), who will discuss with Daniel Domínguez at 2: 00 p.m. at the Dora Zárate Hall.

That same day, at 7: 00 p.m., at Ricardo Miró Hall, the Ricardo Miró Literary Gala will be developed with the presentation of the winning books in the categories of novel (The White and the Black) and poetry (To the Incusable Yours), by the authors Emiliano Pardo Tristan, and Agenor Prieto, respectively, to be submitted by Emma Gómez and Javier Alvarado, respectively.

Meanwhile, on Friday, August 20, at 2: 00 p.m., will be a session where the oral stories are the stars with the show "Stories of you and if you will come back," by Rubén Corbett (Panamanian-based Mexico).
On Saturday, August 21, at 11: 00 a.m., at the Rosa María Britton living room, Ely Rodriguez and Daniel Dominguez will be presenting Sira, the new Spanish novelist María Dueñas.

That 21 August, at 1: 00 p.m., at the Carlos Francisco Changmarín living room, will be presented with the leading books of the Carlos Francisco Changmarín and the Gustavo Batista Cedeño, from Ella Urriola (with the work The things of this world) and Enrique Ng (with late outside), respectively. They will be in charge of the comments Judith of Urriola and Danae Brugiatti, respectively.

A tribute to his late Panamanian writer, Ariel Barria Alvarado, was also scheduled for August 21 at 3: 00 p.m. at the Ricardo Miró Hall by the essayist Damis Serrano.

On Sunday, August 22, at 4: 00 p.m., the literary festival Central America Counts and MiCultura organize the event "Between cinema, salsa and baseball" with the participation of writer Leonardo Padura (Cuba) and Daniel Dominguez.

That same Sunday, at 5: 00 p.m., the Literary Gala of the literary awards Ricardo Miró at the sections of Teatro (Awaken in the Abyss, by Indi Lucía Pereira), Counting (The Cendula of My Mother, by Javier Medina Bernal) and Essay (A transatlantic journey: America, Africa and Europe, by Luis Pulido Ritter9, who will be presented by writers José Carlos Rodrigo BReto, Isabel Burgos and Abdiel Rodriguez, respectively.

That same Sunday at 5: 00 p.m., at the Hersilia Ramos Hall of Argote, will be presented by Daniel Dominguez the narrative work The Death of Daniel, by Panamanian Juan David Morgan.

Also that Sunday at 7: 00 p.m., at the Carlos Francisco Changmarín Salon, Juan Cardona and Alberto Guerra will be presenting the boxing biography "Laguna, el Idol" of Panamanian Daniel Alonso.
