They form a technical table for regular artisan activity at Casco Antiguo

Representatives of institutions that make up the Tourist Cabinet and members of the Association of United Artisans of Casco Antiguo (AUCA) will form a technical table with the aim of finding solutions and regulating the artisan activity at the Casco Antiguo of Panama City and at that table will be represented the institutions that make up the Tourist Cabinet.
The Tourist Cabinet is an agency attached to the Presidency of the Republic as a coordinating, consultative and implementing body of priority actions and main tasks of central government and public and private service institutions to the tourism sector.
The issues to be discussed at the work table to be established next week are to revise Executive Decree 51 of 2004 that lays down the "Manual of standards and procedures for the restoration and rehabilitation of the Casco Antiguo of Panama City," and that its articles have referred to the use of public open spaces.
According to Fernando Díaz Jaramillo, director of the office of the Casco Antiguo (OCA), as part of the accompaniment of the National Government we will "put in place this dialogue between the institutions involved with tourism and crafts to find a permanent solution that will be sustainable in time," protecting their art to continue offering their national products to national and foreign tourists.
It's important to note that the approaches that have been with this group seek to have a formal, legal and permanent place and that's the "priority we seek from the Ministry of Culture, respect them and enforce their rights," added Diaz Jaramillo.
For his part, Azo Cerrud, president of the Association of United Crafts of Casco Antiguo ponder that this meeting have been held where actions that seek a sustainable solution to the requests of the artisan start to be defined.
The president of the Artesans was accompanied by a delegation by other members of the group as Julio Nevado, Pablo Larrain, Daniela García, Félix Guevara and Jesús Benitez.
