Government and Gremiums of Mass Events advance as Roadmap for Reactivation

The authorities of the National Government and the commission of directors of the event and entertainment trade unions have advanced with an overall review of the biosafety protocols and proposals for the development of awareness campaigns aimed at economic recovery of this sector.
The economic recovery table is currently interviewing with representatives of associations that propose a Roadmap to a gradual opening with their respective protocols adopted by the health authorities.
The deputy ministers of commerce and industry, Omar Montilla and his deputy ministers of culture, Gabriel González, with the teams of technicians from the Ministry of the President, Health and Tourism of Panama, the Ministry of Labour and Labour Development, the General Revenue Section of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the National Bank of Panama and the Superintendent of Banks, have been listening to proposals and have been contributing actions aimed at re-opening in a coordinated manner to give a prompt response to these affected sectors.
For their part, representatives of events and entertainment sector groups shared the need to be heard with regard to the issues of banking moratorium, interest, public taxes and services, employment contracts, non-refundable funds, soft loans, curfew flexibility and the review of solidarity bonds for their partners.
The National Government reiterated its commitment to keeping the means of communication and dialogue open to give the necessary accompaniment to assist both workers and businesses in the businesses and industries affected by the pandemic.
The sectors and trade unions that participate at these workshops include representatives of events and conventions, weddings and social events, representatives of rental companies for audio equipment, video and sound, bars, canteen discotheques, representatives of the folk and typical popular music industry, regional trade fair and mass international and national events, among other organizations.
