My Culture met with indigenous authorities from Tubuala for future cultural plans and programs

As part of the actions undertaken by the Ministry of Culture with the program Plan Colmena, the Cultural Rights and Citizenship Unit and the National Handicrafts Management have been close with authorities from the Tubuala Reg 3, with a view to coordinating plans and projects in this indigenous community with difficult access to cultural projects that will benefit the community.

The meeting focused on a number of issues: Masiva accreditation of artisan in the community by May, open paths to artisan fairs in Panama City, increase cultural tourism, give visibility to their work, participate in the first co-operative of crafts at national level, benefits and training with the project plan hives, among other interesting issues.

To Jaime Luna's National Director of Crafts "with this visit we want to date a massive accreditation in the community, Visibilizing the artisan sector, the Guna ethnicity has great ancestral knowledge and we need to get into these communities to get them an integral help from the state."

For its part Celineth Pérez administratoriums from the Junta Communal de Tubuala "The project includes many boundaries as we have no digital platform to display and sell our products, we have many recognised jobs as chaquira, manufacture of Maracas musical instruments, wood size, manufacture of baskets, there's a lot to be exploited and shown to the world but they don't know how to manage, distribute or commercialise them."

Higinio González Benchiman's Reg Reg from Tubuala # 3, remarked "We are most grateful that we have been cared for, we want the MiCultura team to visit our community and get to know some of our local culture, dance, traditional medicine, fishing, moola are part of the work we want to offer, and our intention is to work as a team and support us."

The meeting was attended by Jaime Luna, National Director of Crafts, Lastenia González and Aiban Velarde of the Cultural Rights and Citizenship and Higinio González Benchiman representative of the Tucumala and Celineth Pérez Reg., an administrative assistant to the Tucumala Communal Board.
