Panel of 9 Panamanian artists

Nine Panamanian artists report their works at the "Expo Art: Spatula, brush, chisel and fire," collective that will be submitted up to March 30 from Monday to Friday from 8: 00 a.m. to 4: 00 p.m., on the terrace (13th floor) of the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), located in Via España.

The sample is an initiative of the Commission for Women, Children, Youth and the Family of the National Assembly of Panama and the Association of Parliaments and ExParliaments of the Republic of Panama (AFARLEXPA) with support from MiCultura, the National Institute for Women (INAMU) and the Centre for Gender Studies and Competencies (CECGE).

The Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar Navarro, reported that the institution was proud to be the headquarters of a travelling exhibition to mark International Women's Day, with "Expo Art: Espatula, brush chisel and fire" a look of outstanding artists, composed of 15 paintings and 3 sculptures prepared by nine extraordinary representatives of the Panamanian plastic arts.

The exhibition aims at visualizing the work of leading women at international level, including: MaiYap, elsy Acosta, Coqui Calderon, Silvia Acosta, Michelle Hart, Chini Carles, Victoria Suescum, Miriam Klein and Giovanna Emiliani.

Following his stay at the new headquarters of the cultural entity at the pH Tula in Via España, the sample will be moved to the National Assembly's lobby from 6 to 15 April and to the headquarters of the National Institute for Women (INAMU) from 19 to 30 April.

The artists of "Expo Art: Spatula, brush, chisel and fire"

Mai Yap. Chinese-Panamanian art artist and instructor. Her innovative high quality paintings provoke happiness, environmental and social awareness. She's a color teacher with 30 years of experience. She paints oil into a variety of techniques, from detailed flowers to modern landscapes and abstract acts made entirely with spatulas.

Elsy Acosta. Panamanian ceramics and plastic artist. A Conservationist ecological message predominates in his works and those who carry it are his small muses, with gardens on his hair and origami birds. He has a habitual base in his work and from there his work is constantly changing. He has been Galardonada with the highest distinction at the Roberto Lewis Visual arts contest (2016 and 2020).

Coqui Calderon. In the Panamanian pictorial panorama, it sets out a space of relief: it pines as a technical task of search and creativity, and develops with complexity at phases always in continuity and, in an analysis of what human remains for four decades, reveals a representative style of his personal experience.

Silvia Acosta. Plastic artist, sculptor and stage artist with studies at Panama's National School of Plastic Arts. His works of painting reflect his inner world filled with explosions of color and magic realism. They reflect his lights and colors, an unbeatable commitment to art. To get close to his work is to give his opportunity to recreate his face and his soul, to fill his vision with serene, sensual and full of humanity.

Michelle Hart. He studied at the prestigious Glassell School of Art at the Houston Texas "Museum of Fine Arts," at the end of his first year, with his "Tributo of the year" prize, in 2010. He was recognized for his achievements in integrating beeswax and gold, creating with them fascinating textures.

He studied drawing and painting at the University of Panama's Chini Carles. He studied at Ganexa, Fold glass and sculpture. He works with different technologies such as clay, cement, bronze and molten glass and at the Center of Art and Culture at INAC. Since 1995 he has been an integral part of the Semera Workshop and has studied some of his best forms of production and production.

Victoria Suescum. The work of Victoria Suescum, a Panamanian painter from San Antonio, Texas, since 1988, holds hand-painted images found in the tidits type of hardware, mini supers, canteens and workshops where car repairs are made.

Miriam Klein Castillo. He performed modular painting courses at The Städel Art School of Frankfurt, Germany from 2004 to 2006. Mirian's work, passionately with matter, color and texture, shows his inspiration in his experiences, places and everything that for her lies in constant connection with his own life.

Giovanna Emiliani. with studies at Fine Arts at the University of Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and after years of professional growth in the retail world, Giovanna decided to take a personal turn in search of his true form of expression, art.
