MiCultura presents accountability to Gremiums of Folklore

Folklorists from different associations participated in the accountability meeting currently being held by the Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) with a number of cultural sector groups, with a view to showing how they have been managing them during 2020.

This report submitted by the national directors of the entity, Maru Gálvez of the direction of Creative Economics, Daniel Domínguez, of the National Directorate of the Arts, Enrique Noel, of the Directorate of Cultural Rights and Citizenship and Yessenia Sánchez Special Project Coordinator of the Inter-American Development Bank (BID), reflect the works, projects and programs undertaken by MiCultura last year.

Marú Gálvez, director of Creative Economics, stated that "among the agreements that have been reached with this important guild can be mentioned, the co-ordination of the process of citizen participation in the design of the project, National Folklore Center, the creation of the directory of Folklorists at national level for the satellite account of culture, conduct work tables for the issue of regulating the general law of culture, inventory of events, review of the intersectional high-ground fair and coordinate meetings with the Palenque Foundation for the topic of more than 100 poems written for the Bicentennial.

Carlos Bethancourt, General Coordinator of the National Folkloric Solidarity Movement, an organization that brings together more than 50 organizations throughout the country, noted "we are pleased with the accountability of MiCultura and we are here to give his support to Minister Carlos Aguilar Navarro. During this administration we have been care and have been working with and coordinating and generating future actions among the parties. Likewise, with the Unite Ya platform, in which thanks to that great survey our people have been cared for."

At the meeting we were accompanied by the Vice Minister of Culture, Gabriel González and the Secretary General, José Ismael Herrera and representatives of the various associations such as the Feria de El Copé, ANPEFOLK, Association Nacional de Acordesonistas, Association I want to Sunrise, Creative Ideas, Set of Folkloric Projections Orgullo and Splendor of Panama Oriental, Redafolk Panama, Fundación Palenque de Santiago del Prince and Movement National Folkloric Solidarity.

For the next few weeks, MiCultura will continue to call for different associations, trade unions and people affiliated with culture to show how they have been run during the 18 months of government.
