City of the Arts advances at a good pace

Panama, January 29, 2021.-The City of the Arts project, one of the priority tasks of the Government Plan, advanced by 60.4%, stated the deputy ministers of culture, Gabriel González, after an inspection tour to the construction of the work, with the team of directors of the institution.
The ministry's delegation met with directors of the company Subcontractor, Project Building Manager (APORCOSA) to observe the work, currently presenting advances with respect to the finishes, the area of the Multifunctional Theater and the different buildings that make up this great cultural complex.
The town of Las Artes will host the National Symphony Orchestra of Panama, the National Ballet of Panama, the schools of Theater, Dance, Plastic arts and the National Institute of Music. It will have a cafeteria, exhibition rooms, library and a multifunctional theater and will also host the headquarters of the Circle of Writers and Writers of Panama.
"We have been able to note that there's a significant physical advance in their structures and in the mechanical part, as inspections have been undertaken since we have been back to the constructive stage. We hope that Panamanian and Panamanian will soon have an opportunity to enjoy their facilities for the benefit of our country's culture," added González.
The Vice-Minister of Culture was accompanied by Jorge Morales, Director of the Office for Equal Opportunities and Jaronne Rovi, Director of Infrastructure at the institution.
The project will benefit about 20,000 people directly and more than 250,000 people indirectly, and will cover about 5,000 youth studying at schools and arts centers at the Ministry of Culture.
The budget for the construction of this project is estimated at 54 million balboas but does not include furniture and some areas that require specialized budgets. They are 5 new buildings, 2 that are being more adapted the main square of Ciudad de las Artes. It's estimated that the City of Artes will be inaugurated at the end of 2021.
