The Ministry of Culture awarded medals and scrolls to the winners of this year's five arts contest, including the Ricardo Miró, Carlos Francisco Changmarín and Gustavo Batista Cedeño in literature, as well as the Roberto Lewis of visual arts and Roque Cordero for music.
On behalf of the government of President Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, Carlos Aguilar Navarro, Minister of Culture, extended his congratulations to all the artists recognized at these awards and thanked the 394 contestants called.
"The Panamanians have experienced difficult moments, we have come forward, each from their space and from their potential. The circumstances have put us to the test and culture became a strong ally to face this pandemic united, through the talent of all the artists and creative entrepreneurs of the country. That's why the work of each of you sustains the healing and transformative power of our expressions from the arts," the Minister remarked.
For his part, Daniel Domínguez, National Director of the Arts, at the event of giving them artistic recognition, explained that, from the National Direction of the Arts, we have been successful in bringing to an end the process of these awards have been important challenges that we have been trying to achieve them, especially amidst Covio-19.
He also emphasized that every contest winner has been giving away stories, sounds, images and colors that have filled our hearts with horizons, looks, reflections, apprenticeships and, above all, have given us sufficient reasons to continue with the faith that anything's possible.
