He initiated his regressive account on his way to Panama's Bicentennial

Panama, 30 November 2020 -A year after the celebration of the Bicentennial of Spanish Panama's Independence, local authorities, representatives of government agencies and organizations began their regressive account with the launch of the "inverse counter" that will mark the days for the commemoration of so historic date.

Carlos Aguilar Navarro, Minister of Culture and President of the Bicentennial Commission with his members participated in this event that was held at Urraaca Park and that begins with the conduct of a number of activities of a educational, cultural and festive character.

"From the commission we will be production research, editing books, conduct forums and lectures to deepen more about this most important date, because it was an historic moment that changed many things. We stopped being subjects of a crown to enter the Republican period," emphasized Aguilar Navarro.

The Minister of Culture emphasized that "Panamanian people from the start believed in the dream of Simon Bolívar of a great Latin American homeland that united us to all countries, not only to be independent but to join that consensus, that today we have to do so to build internal as a nation with other countries of the nation, working as a unity to build a better world."

Mr. Aguilar Navarro expressed his gratitude to the Mayor of Panama for his initiative and mentioned that the lessons that life is giving us will lead us to the path of harmony that will allow us to achieve social peace by building a more just and equitable country where the goal is to unite all Panamanian people in the fight against poverty and inequality and I urge them to participate in the activities we will conduct to enhance our country's history and to promote that sense of nation as well as the love of our culture and traditions.

According to the Mayor's Office of Panama, the activation of this watch donated by the company Vigzo will allow time to be filled and will have an opportunity to see the 200 years of independence every day. Also as a capital entity, Minister of Culture, have our close collaboration and support, to achieve the tasks established to commemorate date and final success, as we celebrate our Bicentennial as a national state.
