David NG Joins Young Poets To Winner The Gustavo Batista Cedeño Award

Panama, November 19, 2020 -The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura), through the National Directorate of The Arts, announced that "LATE AFUERA," presented with the pseudonym "Cigoto," was the Nobel work of the National Prize for Young Poetry Gustavo Batista Cedeño 2020, whose author is poet David Enrique NG.
Of 19 jobs submitted, the jury formed by Denisse Española, from Dominican Republic, Krisma Mancía, from El Salvador and Héctor Aquiles González, from Panama chose by most votes this work for a powerful and sustained steering thread, a contemporary, close and clear language with powerful images from daily life and monitoring of human events.
The work "SPACE" protected with the pseudonym Azur, was chosen as a mention of honor as a fine and elegant poemary, filled with images with an escape from the poet to unimaginable locations.
To Daniel Dominguez, National Director of The Arts, Today we congratulate the poet David Enrique Ng for the winning work late outside. That artist of the letters thus joins with other national beards whose works were triumphant at the Gustavo Batista Cedeño contest.
Gustavo Batista Cedeño dies at age 29, on 3 July 1991. In 1992, the National Institute of Culture, currently the Ministry of Culture, established a poetry contest with Gustavo Batista Cedeño to promote the creation of the young poets of Panama to continue to build his homeland from his verses, Domínguez added.
David NG holds a degree and engineering technical from the Universidad Tecnologia de Panama. He has published the poemaries Puente de Jade (2016) and nearly 25 poems (2010).
It appears in the anthology Vástagos del Dragon (2015), Panamanian poets of Chinese descent. His poems have been translated into English, Catalan, Portuguese, Mandarin and French.
