MiCultura recognizes Ela Urriola as winner of the Carlos Francisco Changmarin 2020 contest

Panama, October 20, 2020.-The poet, writer and teacher Ela Urriola with her work "The Things of this World" was elected as the winner of the Carlos Francisco Changmarin 2020 National Children's and Youth Literature Competition, which celebrates its twelfth version.

According to the jurors, this figure under the pseudonym is Titan was selected from 12 participating jobs as a poemary that serves as a didactic and values teaching weapon for those children undergoing training and holds a leading thread of a formal character in all poems.

The jurors of this contest who had the responsibility to conduct the reading and analysis of the proposals that participated were Eyra Harbar, Genaro Villalaz and Porfirio Salazar, all well known writers and national prize holders.

To Daniel Domínguez as National Director of The Arts "Carlos Francisco Changmarín was as versatile as his exercise as his creator, among others, was a writer of stories for children and youth. Chico Changmarín's texts were not a concatenation of speeches and tasks, his children's pieces were both candid and subversive in the best sense of both words.

"That prize is a way to remember his legacy. It's a way to thank him for his existence and his being the father of so many dear characters, for leading us through situations and conflicts that have allowed us to better understand his life," Dominguez emphasized.

During the opening of pics a video about the child's tale "Titus Rabbit" was shown by the architect of the master Carlos Francisco Changmarín and an artistic presentation was made of the musical piece Punto Santa Librada by Edgardo Quintero performed by Arlenne Magallón at the cello and José Muñoz at the guitar.

Ela Urriola has won several literary awards, including two Ricardo Miró poetry contest, one in 2014 and the most recent in 2018, with the work The Age of the Pink, a poemary that is an honor to the creative women. He also earned the National Retirement Award "José María Sánchez" with his work "Agujeros Negros" (2015) and the Anita Villalaz Award "Writer of the Year" Perennes values (2019).
