MiCultura and UP strengthen training for art appraisal

The Ministry of Culture and the University of Panama conduct a cycle of lectures of appreciation of the art that aims to promote an exchange between public institutions and civil society, through reflection, planning and implementation of training programs for public sensitised to both theoretical and artistic aspects.

"The times of art," by specialist María Carballeda, is a series of sessions that will bring participants closer to an analysis of the history of art, making a journey from Renaissance, that marks the beginning of modernity, to Contemporary and Conceptual Art.

These master classes will be conducted through an analysis of ten key works that visualize the evolution of artistic representation, weekly, starting on September 7th to October 5th.

"We have considered facing the participants with two works at every time. The first will conduct a tour of the fundamental aspects that make up the movement, while the second will allow participants to visualize what they have been learned through a work with high social recognition, so that the participant will have the basic elements to analyse and evaluate the foundations of the history of universal art," says Professor of History of Art.

For Alexandra Schjelderup, Director of International Cooperation at MiCultura, initiatives such as "The Times of Art," as part of the National Public Training Programme for Art, contribute to strengthening the artistic skills and skills of the course participants while strengthening processes in the artistic education system in Panama with the promotion of conceptual training and theoretical update programs among professionals and art amateurs in general.

The cycle "The times of art" will be performed at the zoom platform with participants entered to the course through the email pbrooks @ MiCultura.gob.pa and will also have broadcast through Facebook and Youtube from the Ministry of Culture to have more dissemination of its contents from My Culture at Casa 2.0.
