Mnsignor Ulloa Highlights Advancements by the Ministry of Culture

The Archbishop of Panama, Bishop José Domingo Ulloa, described as an important advance the creation of the Ministry of Culture and called for cultural, artistic, creative and folkloric expressions to be advanced in our country's multiethnic wealth.

During the Dominican Eucharist dedicated to the celebration of the first anniversary of MiCultura, Bishop Ulloa ponderated the management of the ministry's team and emphasized that the institution faces the challenge of strengthening itself as a vehicle of expression for human development and social mobilization within the multi-ethnic wealth of the country, evaluating all cultural manifestations with equality, dignity and projection, especially in communities and peoples where it emerges naturally.

It also called for an inclusive and focused public cultural policies with a view to managing the sustainable development of our peoples.

"Amidst the health, social and economic crisis, art plays an important role for society. It's one of the main means with which human beings express and manifest their ideas and feelings," she remarked during the mass, with the presence of the Vice President of the Republic, José Gabriel Carrizo.

Bishop Ulloa expressed his gratitude for the participation of the Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar and his management team and celebrated his first year of his activity, a date at which his art and culture have been given a place to be deserved in Panama.

Also, at his Dominican meeting, his greetings were expressed for his 501 years of founding Panama's town, his 106th anniversary of the Panama Canal, his 50 years of the Teatro de la Atia Dora, his 107 years of the School of Plastic Arts at the Ministry of Culture and his 95 years of his Association of Spanish Nurses.
