MiCultura promotes Writer Training Program in Virtual Mode

Panama, 31 July 2020 -The Ministry of Culture, through its Research and Publication Section, promotes registration for the workshops of the Writer Training Programme (PROFE), which this year will be held in a virtual manner.

Those interested can be a part of the program and attend the literary workshop of their choice with the guide of leading local writers such as Salvador Medina Barahona (poetry), Edgar Soberón Torchia (dramaturia), Octavio Tapia Lu (essay), Ariel Barria (novel), Porfirio Salazar (tale) and the newest of creative writing with Eratito Espino Barahona.

Priscilla Delgado, representing the national research and publications management of MiCultura, explained that the initiative of PROFE is to form writers, strengthen knowledge and increase the level of literary production.

Delgado also stated that this issue of the PROFE will be inclusive and that they have been invited to join the generation of new writers from this 2020 issue.

The quotas will be limited, as the unlimited zoom platform will be used with the support of SERTV. The total cost of each workshop is B / .150.00 and will be four months of sabatine classes starting on August 22 and expiring in December.

To date, more than 300 leading and emerging writers have been involved with the three copies of PROFE, where their graduates have written 4 books and have been awarded national literary awards, such as Carlos Francisco Changmarin (Counting) and Gustavo Batista Cedeño (Poesy).
