MiCultura offers conference cycle "7 Later with the Reading"

Panama May 5, 2020. - The Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with Project 500 Stories, will start a cycle of virtual conferences called "7 Tordes with la Lectura," dictated by Panamanian writer Carlos Fong, charged with the Office for the Promotion of the Book and Reading of the institution.

As part of the activities of "MiCultura at Home," the lectures will start from May 7, with an hour's duration from 3 to 4 p.m. from the Ministry's platforms.

According to the head of the Office for the Promotion of Book and Reading at MiCultura, virtual lectures are directed at teachers, librarians, cultural managers, teachers and students, schools or universities, officials or individuals or people with literary and reading interests.

The themes of each clinic will be: Reading serves nothing, starting the cycle, followed by Literature and Creativity, next May 14; Reading and Counting Early Childhood Stories, scheduled for May 21; Reading as a sociocultural practice, to be held on May 28; Reading and Cultural Management for June 4; how a tale will be born that will develop June 11, and ending with the reading and citizenship building circles for June 18.

Fong adds that at every meeting there will be an opportunity for group interaction to reflect on the issue discussed, about the promotion of writing and reading and with some minicharas dictated by different guests at each session.

"The clinics are within the framework of My Culture at Home as part of the program of sociocultural animation since the reading of the Ministry of Culture and with the collaboration of Project # 500 Stories, that have been building Youth Writer Circules at schools in Panama since last year, Fong reiterated."
