MiCultura regions continue to support throughout the country

Panama 16 April 2020The regional directorates of the Ministry of Culture continue to cooperate interinter-institutional in the corners of the country, bringing food bags to the most vulnerable sectors as part of the actions of the Panama Solidarity Plan, designed to meet urgent needs as a result of the pandemic.

From Guabito, Changinola's Reg at Bocas del Toro, passing through the five Reg Reforms of Santa María at Herrera, Chiriquí, Coclé, Veraguas and Darién with accompaniment at the collection centers of Panama City, the MiCultura's volunteer team participates as part of the task force of state officials that are placed at the first line of support to Panamanians.

The Panama Solidarity Plan aims at helping people with multidimensional poverty, vulnerable families, people living in difficult areas and people dedicated to economic activity on their own account.

To date, 481,674 food bags have been built and 356,872 have been delivered and 33,550 bonds have been drawn up and 177,483 have been delivered.

Carlos Aguilar Navarro, Minister of Culture, points out that: "The situation we have been through as a product of Coronavirus puts us at a crucial moment where we have to put our hands to those most in need, including the formal and informal sectors, within the Panama Solidarity Plan, require our attention. We are all going to have to contribute to this war and we will gain it."

Thus, in response to Plan Panama Solidario, 11,091 food bags have been distributed to 18 communities of Guna Yala, Archipelago of Las Perlas, Coast Below Colón and Ngäbe Buglé and by air 27,025 to 38 communities at Darién, Coast Below Colón, Guna Yala and Ngäbe Buglé.
