National Symphony Orchestra Supports with "Panamanian Typical Capricho"

Panama, 16 April 2020.The members of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Ministry of Culture, led by master Jorge Ledezma Bradley, united with the call for union and solidarity with Panama in the fight against covid-19 and shared with social networks the "Typical Panamanian Capricho," an extraordinary musical piece by composer Alberto Galimany, established in 1936.

The musicians of the orchestra, from their homes, have taken the initiative of solidarity to interpret this patriotic melody of the composer of great works of Panamanian music, among them fantasies such as Vasco Núñez de Balboa and the famed March Panama.

Master Ledezma Bradley, while leading this solidarity musical proposal, remarked that "there's nothing as important as unification, union and solidarity among Panamanian people to get ahead of them," while at the same time calling for people to stay at home and following the authorities' instructions to protect ourselves from the pandemic.

He also explained that the piece includes the most popular melodies of the urban area of Panama as well as the interior of the Republic, such as the cumbia and the mejorana, for example.

"All this forms a piece in rapsody format that's the blend of several melodies that come to pass with each other, each with rhythm and different themes," added MiCultura's official.
