MiCultura regrets the death of Professor Osvaldo Sempris

Panama, 9 April 2020The Ministry of Culture regrets the sensitive death of the teacher, musician and Panamanian Osvaldo Sempris Sotillo.

The Minister of Culture, Carlos Aguilar Navarro highlighted the attributes as a human being and prolijo worker of culture, highlighting his contribution as an educator, a permanent member of the National Symphony Orchestra and one of the founders and director of the system of Bandas, Orquesta and Coros of Panama into the nineties.

He was born on January 20, 1966, Sempris was director of the National Conservatory of Music and national director of artistic education at the National Institute of Culture that currently Ministry of Culture as well as director of the Municipal Symphony Band.

I describe as an extraordinary artist, master of percussion, great friend, patriot and worthy representative of Panama's culture, his colleague Rommel Charpentier emphasizes that, thanks to his immense passion for music, dedication and endeavor, he came to play most of his instruments and achieved many of his personal and professional goals.

Osvaldo Sempris was elected several times to participate in international youth orchestras festivals.

For his part, Professor Ellis Newman, National of Artistic Education at the Ministry of Culture, explain that Professor Sempris leaves a great legacy in his music and his education to our country as a culture professional worthy to admire for generations.
